A couple of weeks ago I was in Los Angeles and got to visit the Professional Drum Shop. I’ve known about the shop for as long as I can remember, mostly because they published one of my favorite drum books, which featured a picture of the shop on the back.
It was really fun to finally see it in person and I only left with a hoodie, which my wallet was happy about.

Speaking of Los Angeles (and drummers who live out there), I’ve been a fan of Tina Raymond‘s drumming for a little while now and have had this new EP by Rachel Eckroth on repeat all week. Available on Bandcamp and streaming services.
Johnathan Blake & PENTAD
Johnathan Blake has been out on a run of European dates to support his new album, My Life Matters. Here’s a recent video from the Zig Zag club in Berlin. Johnathan consistently sounds wonderful and his playing looks so effortless.
