Hank Allen-Barfield is a young drummer living in New York City who recently graduated from Juilliard.
In college Hank has studied with people like Kenny Washington, Billy Drummond, Paul Wells, and Joe Farnsworth. You can catch Hank playing regularly in New York City or out on the road with Stella Cole.
I don’t remember how I first became aware of him, but it was probably on a livestream from Smalls and I’ve been following him ever since. I thought it would be fun to talk to somebody fresh out of school and so early on in their career. I look forward to catching up with him in the future.
